Well this has been a great week. Erin and Mark are coming with katie tomorrow to spend the week-end and have her baby blessing at our church in marion. She is so cute I can't wait to see her again. Jenn and Ryan and girls are coming too and they are so cute I can't wait to see them again. And, of course, Karleigh will be here and she is always cute. So nice to have all my granddaughters to gether at the same time. Wish sarah and Adam and Mattie and Rhonda were going to be here.
Other great news. Jody and I sent our query letter for our book " 17 Kids And What Do You Get" . We did it thru an email query service that I had found. For $280.00 they sent it out to 300-500 agents and editors. So far 14 have requested the next part which is the proposal and sample chapters. A bunch wrote back saying what a great book it sounded like. This is kind of scary for me as I am not wnating to be a public person but Jody has worked so hard and is really good at this that I have agreed to co-write it with him and be the PR person.

We have been so busy this week what with the visit to see Katie, Erin and Mark and then the custody trial for Karleigh. Whoever thought you were thru parenting when the kids got grown was wrong. Jody and I had a great visit with Erin and Mark and Katie. She is awful cute and especially sweet. I thought she looked just like Mark, but I found a baby picture of me the other day and both Jody and I were reminded of Katie in it. I really liked Pittsburgh and enjoyed the time alone with my husband. We were able to help put up mini-blinds [ Jody ] and babysit Katie [ me ] while Erin and mark did needed errands. We also had some fun and discovered a great gourmet Thai restaurant. We will definitely be visiting there again. While there I discovered what I thought was a lump in my breast and spent time worrying about it. On Mon. I had my first mammeogram. It was completely clean of any lumps and bumps. What a relief.
On Tues. we had our day and night from hell in court. But, hey, all well that end's well. And it did end well. After 5-6 hours [ from 4 to 10 pm ]of court testimony by Crystal, her boyfriend Jake, Joey, Lossie, me and our PI, the judge awarded Joey primary custody. He has Kars 5 days and nights. Crystal has her 2 and James, Crystal's stepdad is allowed no contact with her.
Thurs. was Flossie's birthday. I took her to eat and will do a family party here on Sun. if peopple can get up our driveway. The last hill is nothing but mud as they plowed it and didn't get the gravel on in time.

Boy, we are a busy family. Erin and Mark and Katie are now living in Pittsburgh. Jody and I leave in the next hour or so to go meet our fourth grandbaby. I am really excited to get to know this child. Sarah and Adam are flying as I write to South Africa. I booked our tickets for Guate to fly the end of Aug. yesterday. Jody and I will have our query letter ready to email to 300-500 agents and editors by the time we return on Sat.
I found something of my grandmothers [ my mom's mom ] the other day that really tickled my heart. It was among the items brought back froom dismantling my parents house. It was a music tablet my grandmother had used in a music class she was taking at Meredith in 1913. On the back, it listed her courses. They were Musical History, English, Harmony, Piano, and German. She must have been a music major as this was her senior year. It was dated 1913. By 1917, she had married had Uncles Bryan and Edwin and grandma was born.
